John Bamsey

John Bamsey was born in Augsburg, Germany, but has lived in Northern Virginia for more than 40 years. He holds BS and MS degrees in Business Administration from Strayer University. He is licensed as an Enrolled Agent and is an Adjunct Instructor of Business Administration at Northern Virginia Community College, where he has taught Business, Accounting and Taxation for more than a decade. John has been involved in accounting and tax return preparation for more than 25 years. He has worked in various roles from Clerk to Controller in several small private companies and one not-for-profit. He joined Ross & Moncure in January of 2012.

John specializes in corporate, partnership and non-profit taxation. He is well-versed in tax issues specific to Maryland, Virginia and DC, and over the course of his career has acquired the ability to approach and explain complex tax issues to clients thoroughly and with clarity.

John and his wife Vickie, a Registered Nurse and Unit Manager, as well as a university instructor, live in Loudoun County. John has a daughter who is a Registered Nurse, and a son who is a Job Coordinator for a restoration & remodeling company, one Chocolate Labrador, and one West Highland White Terrier. He has completed numerous half-marathons, the Marine Corps Marathon, and a duathlon. He has also coached baseball and basketball teams.
